Spark, an anthology of 44 poems written in response to Muriel Spark's 22 novels (i.e. two to each novel) will be published on 15 October 2018 by Blue Diode Press. It has been a steep learning curve and an amazing experience to edit, create and publish a book like this, and I can't thank the fantastic contributors enough. They have surpassed my expectations, which were already high, and I feel sure that readers will find plenty to enjoy.
The launch will be at the Scottish Poetry Library, 5 Crichton's Close, Edinburgh, EH8 8DT on Saturday 13 October, 2.30-4pm. A number of poets featured in the anthology will read and there will be an opportunity to buy it, two days before its official publication date.
There will also be a launch in Newcastle, at the Lit & Phil on Thursday 8 November, 7pm, and one in Glasgow on a date in November still to be confirmed. Early next year, we plan readings from the anthology in London, Hebden Bridge, and who knows where else!
I am already thinking about what Blue Diode Press might do next. Perhaps it will publish an individual collection if I can find a victim whose work I like enough. Certainly the plan was never just to publish one book and disappear. I will keep you updated through this blog, so please add it to your bookmarks.
